SLOCとは
What is SLOC?
SLOCとは、“Small Local Open & Connected”の略で、2010年頃からヨーロッパを中心に広がりを見せつつある新しい生活様式の考え方です。
クリーンエネルギーと健康的な食の観点からエコロジカル且つサスティナブルであるそれぞれの集合体は小さくて地方に散らばってはいるものの、外に向かっては常にインタラクティブな情報のやりとりをしており、互いに網の目の様に情報のみならず流通に於いても繋がっている様をイメージしてみてください。必要最小限のキャッシュについては何某かの手法で得るとしても、自分の食い扶持は自分でまかなう、自給自足型の小農を目指す、そして余ったものについては地域でシェアしていく、いわば人間生存の基本のライフスタイル、即ち人間本来の食性に合致した作物を選んで、独立百姓最大の功徳を取り入れた「半農半X(エックス)」的なものといえば理解し易いでしょうか。
こういったSLOC社会を実現させるための有力な手法のひとつとして『アグリボルタイクス（ソーラーシェアリング）』があります。 アグリボルタイクス（ソーラーシェアリング）とは、太陽光発電設備の下で農業を展開するスキームで、正に『クリーンエネルギーと食の地産地消』の実現を可能にする取り組みです。
現状の日本に於いては、わたしたちの食生活で必要な食料を、国内生産で賄えるのは約４割、残りの６割は輸入に頼っています。 日本が海外から食料を輸入するということは、その国のエネルギーや資源、水を使用して生産し、輸送しているということになります。 フードマイレージとは、食料を運ぶのにかかったエネルギーを表す指標です。生産地から食卓までの距離が長ければ長いほどフードマイレージの値は大きくなるのですが、日本は先進国の中では断トツで値が大きく、環境への負荷が高いとされています。
更に混沌としていく世界の中で、若しも「何か」予期せぬ災害が起こったときにあなたは今のライフスタイルを続けていることで自分自身や愛する家族を守ることができますか？ 「何か」が起こったとき、工業製品やサービスの輸出と引き換えにするような、安易な農畜産物の輸入を永遠に続けていくことは果たして可能だと思いますか？ 世界的な穀物価格の高騰、食料不足が進む中、先ずは食料の安定供給を確保することが喫緊の課題だと思いませんか？ 「食とエネルギー」は地域社会の絆、そしてあなたの身を守る根幹だと思いませんか？ 「何か」が起こってからでは手遅れなのです。
それぞれの地域における良識があり気付きを得た民を中心に草の根レベルで持続可能社会を完成させていく、そして行政は全体への奉仕者としてそれを全身全霊でサポートするというフォーメーションを確立できた地域から順に、真の意味での『平和で繁栄した社会』を創り上げていくことができるでしょう。
SLOC stands for “Small Local Open & Connected,” a new lifestyle concept that has been spreading around Europe since around 2010.
Imagine the societies they are although small and scattered throughout the countryside, always exchanging interactive information with the outside world, and are connected not only in terms of information but also in terms of distribution. Even if the minimum amount of cash is obtained through certain methods, the farmer should aim to become a self-sufficient small farmer and share the surplus with the local community, choosing crops that match the basic lifestyle of human existence, i.e., human nature of eating. It would be easier to understand if we call it a “Half Farmer, Half X” type of lifestyle that incorporates the merits of independent peasantry.
One of the most promising methods to realize this kind of SLOC society is “agrivoltaics” which is a scheme to develop agriculture under solar power generation facilities, and is truly an approach that enables the realization of “local production for local consumption of clean energy and food.
Currently, only about 40% of the food necessary for our diet is produced domestically in Japan, with the remaining 60% coming from imports.
When Japan imports food from overseas, it means that the energy, resources, and water of that country are used to produce and transport the food. Food mileage is an indicator of the energy it took to transport food. The longer the distance from the production site to the dining table, the greater the food mileage value, and Japan has by far the highest value among developed countries and is considered to have a high environmental impact.
In an increasingly chaotic world, will you be able to protect yourself and your loved ones by continuing with your current lifestyle when “something” unexpectedly happens? When “something” happens, do you really think it is possible to continue forever the easy importation of agricultural and livestock products in exchange for the export of industrial products and services? With global grain prices skyrocketing and food shortages on the rise, don’t you think it is an urgent issue to secure a stable supply of food first? Don’t you think that “food and energy” are the basis of community bonding and your personal protection? It is too late to do anything about it after something has happened.
We will be able to create a “peaceful and prosperous society” in the true sense of the word, starting with those communities that have established a formation where people with common sense and awareness in each community take the lead to complete a sustainable society at the grassroots level, and the government, as a servant of the whole, supports them with its whole heart and soul. In this way, a “peaceful and prosperous society” will be created in the true sense of the word.

私たちSUNファーム市原は障碍者の皆様が社会で輝く場を提供することにも貢献しています。
クリーンエネルギーを創り出すソーラーパネルの下は特に夏場の暑い時期に於いては厳しい直射日光が遮られる効果があることから、快適な空間でブルーベリー摘みといった農作業を行うことが可能となります。
また、農薬や化学肥料を使用せず、自然農を展開しているフィールドは空気も清々しく心地良いものとなっていることから、我々の農園で仕事をしたいという方々は年々増加傾向にあります。
ブルーベリーの収穫委託をしている就労継続支援B型事業所さんから頂いた下記のメッセージにもそれが良く表れています：

SUN Farm Ichihara also contributes to providing a place for those persons with disabilities to shine in society.
Under the solar panels, which create clean energy, workers can pick blueberries in a comfortable space, especially during the hot summer months, as the harsh direct sunlight is blocked out.
In addition, the number of people who want to work on our farms is increasing year by year, as we do not use pesticides or chemical fertilizers, and the air is clean and pleasant in our natural farming fields.
The following message from a Type B support center for continuous employment of persons with disabilities, to which we outsource the harvesting of blueberries, is a clear indication of this:

The PPA business utilizing agrivoltaics, which has been attracting attention in recent years due to the rise of RE100 and ESG investment, is a perfect example of how we aim to build a society that connects people with people and communities with communities.
Recently, we have been receiving an increasing number of inquiries and inspections about agrivoltaics not only from Japan but also from overseas, and we feel that we are approaching an era in which individuals in each area will connect and develop their businesses while revitalizing local communities.
We are one of the few companies that can provide a full range of support from sales and marketing, consulting including applications to the government, provision of know-how including liquid farming and hydroponics, and design and construction. We have been involved in more than 100 agrivoltaic projects throughout Japan, mainly in the Kanto region.
