Bamboo charcoal is more porous than charcoal and has deodorizing, freshness retention, water purification, negative ion effects, soil improvement, far-infrared radiation effects and humidity control. Good quality bamboo charcoal leaves countless holes when carbonized, and the many small holes have excellent adsorption properties and are effective for air purification, deodorization, water purification and humidity control. The holes are inhabited by effective micro-organisms, which also improve the soil environment.
Bamboo charcoal’s humidity-controlling and deodorizing properties are ten times superior to those of charcoal in terms of adsorption. Bamboo charcoal has a slightly alkaline to alkaline permeability and has an antibacterial effect on bacteria that prefer weak acidity. Bamboo charcoal also contains a high mineral content, with 35 times more potassium, 10 times more sodium and 5 times more magnesium than wood charcoal, as well as calcium and iron.
